My father was discharged last week. After the liver transplant he was treated for fungal pneumonia. He had a fungal infection 3-4 years ago but since he was given a lot of steroids, the infection came back as fungal pneumonia.

The doctor has suggested home care treatment, because he is still on steroids and there are chances of him catching an infection in the hospital.

Every 2 days I go to the doctors to show him the reports. We have a nurse at home for 24 hours and he undergoes physiotherapy twice a day. We also have an oxygen cylinder at home in case he runs out of breath.

Thank you providing me a platform to raise the goal amount. I’m extremely thankful to you all and the team.

We expected my father to be discharged by this week and I anticipated 6 lakhs to be a sufficient amount. But depending on his progress looks like he would take a week more to be discharged and the amount might not be sufficient.

I am thereby increasing the goal amount to 15 Lakhs. Since we are expecting prolonged stay in hospital and also the cost to maintain the required sanitation at home is being a burden for us. For transplant patients it is crucial to maintain good sanitation at home for almost 6 months. Even post discharge he will be under supervision with 24*7 nursing and continuous monitoring of his levels in order to adjust his medications.
