Hi All,

Picking up from my last update, we were waiting for a call from donor's organizations and waiting for someone from matched donors to come forward and get ready to donate.

Fortunately, we got a confirmation from a donor today. And now doctor's are going to initiate the process in next 4-5 days. So, It is a humble request for everyone to come forward and help for the campaign as we have 4-5 days to collect as much as we can.

Thank you!!

Hi All,
Firstly, thanks to all the donars for their valuable help. Here is the latest update on Radhika's treatment.

Biopsy and MRD report is NOT quite good. Both report are showing 5 -10% blast. We had expected a result of remission stage after prolonged FLAG-IDA(Strong Chemotherapy) treatment. Unfortunately, we failed to get.

After consultant with treating doctor, we have decided a new protocol i.e YAP REGIMEN. It is combination of Asparaginase and methotrexate chemotherapy, which is use in relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This treatment will help us to eliminate those 5-10% blast and help to get the remission stage. The doses of this treatment will be given for next 2-3 week and get ready for bone marrow transplant procedure. Still no fix date has been decided for BMT, but we are expecting it to be done by end of January 2019. Again it will be dependent on result of latest treatment.

The hospital has already initiated counselling process with multiple donors (from India repository) simultaneously. We also waiting for a call from donor's organization. I believe someone from donor list will come forward soon and ready to donate bone marrow as per as possible.

Hi all, again a big thank to all the donors for their help.
As I said in my last update, the chemotherapy of FLAG-IDA protocol is completed on last Tuesday. The goals of therapy, the FLAG-IDA is given as induction chemotherapy to eliminate leukemia cells from the body and to decrease symptoms from ALL, such as bleeding, bruising, and recurrent infections and many others. This is also given with the goal of cure or to put the leukemia in remission so a bone marrow transplant can be performed. In our case the whole treatment took 21 days. During the hospital stay, she suffered a lot with expected side effects in the initial treatment days. She is fine now and feeling well.

On 28th Nov We celebrate Radhika's 5th birthday in the hospital. It was really good to see hospital staff and nurses were celebrating Radhika's birthday with so much fun and laughter. Thank you very much for the unforgettable moments. Coincidentally, on the same day It was a birthday of K. B Grant, the founder of Grant Medical Foundation (Ruby Hall Clinic).

As discussed with treating doctor, we are planning for Bone Marrow Aspiration (BMA) procedure in next week. It is process that involves taking a small amount of bone marrow fluid and cells through a needle placed into the bone, generally the pelvic bone. Such examination is used to diagnosis the remission state of cancer cell after the treatment.
Upon the result of BMA, we will take admission for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatment probably in the 3rd week of December. We are still lacking with financial support as we already spent much more during FLAG-IDA treatment. As you may know the BMT treatment is one most costly and risky procedure and would have more expenses after the treatment as well. We would be extremely grateful if you would like to give us help in whatever way.
Thank you very much again for all support!
