It has been a while since i have updated anything for which i am very sorry - it has been a busy few weeks and overall all the effort put seems to be bearing fruit. Stela has had a very successful bone marrow transplant and post the BMT she has taken the procedure well and is in a fast recovery mode. We are still visiting the doctor on a weekly basis and this will continue for a while. Her blood tests and other related test show positive progression. Even though cancer relapse cannot be ruled out completely but fingers crossed and all the blessing have given us enough hope that we are looking at a long and healthy life for Stela.

Good Morning,
We are now in the final phase of treatment for Stela - She has gone through a very successful bone marrow transplant and she is in the maintenance phase very she is expected to go down physically and lose complete immunity, during this period she is having high fever with loose motion etc. This is expected to continue for sometime till the new cells start working and bring in a order in her bone marrow.
She is doing well despite all - she is taking food and medicine though a pipe in passing through her nose. We are looking at a discharge of late September and then it is just fingers crossed with regular testing for the next five years and if there is no relapse then we can be assured that she is cured.
we would like to thank all the valuable support that we have got from all contributors via milaap financially and with advise, without your support this journey would have been very difficult.

Stela is enjoying her precious few days at home after her 3rd Chemo. As discussed earlier that Stela had a high rick AML due to the presence of Trisomy 21 but her cancer is in remission which means that she is responding well to the treatment. Bone marrow transplant has been recommended is the best way forward to ensure that her cancer doesnot come back and her chances for recovery increases drastically.
We have checked options for donors and have found that Stela's mom is a ideal donor and we have started preparation for the process that is expected to start 3rd week of August and she is expected to stay in the hospital for almost a month.
Expenses have increased and we are looking at another 10-15 Lakh just for the BMT.
The best part is Stela is still enjoying life and is full package of fun and excitement. She still loves her smartphone and all gadgets while YOU TUBE keeps her happy.
