With a week to go for Pride, we're withdrawing a part of the funds you have all generously donated. This will go towards paying for the hall, stall space, expenses for the art exhibition and panels, and more. Please watch this space for more updates. <3

Dear all,
Several of our community members have come forward to ask if Pride is happening as planned, in the wake of the floods that have affected many parts of Kerala. It is indeed heartwarming to know how concerned so many of us have been, and an excellent reminder about how deeply compassionate we as a community are, how sensitive we are to the sufferings of others. ❤️

We have resolved to use the occasion of Pride to both support the victims of the floods, as well as celebrate and continue to fight for our rights. We firmly believe that one does not have to exclude the other.

This is why we have decided to donate all proceeds that remain from Pride's fundraising to the rehabilitation of flood-hit areas. We will also raise funds specifically for this cause during the event, and we're confident that our community's generosity will be reflected there.

As Queer beings, we are all well aware of what it is to lead lives filled with marginalization and violence. We cannot stand idly by as so many in the State continue to face this tragic circumstance; instead, we will show up and support them in every way that we can. And we do not need to forget our own communities in order to do so - rather, we will use the deep love and support that is the hallmark of our community to rally help for those who need it.
See you all in Thrissur!
Queerly yours,
Team Queer Pride Kerala.
