We have a good news to share. Gopika’s health conditions have stabilized and she has been showing good progress day by day. Her parents have welcomed a baby boy to the family and Gopika is thrilled to have a little brother. “Gopika is active and is very happy to play with her baby brother” says Srinivas.
They are still residing at a place near the hospital since it is important that Gopika is free from infections and can reach the hospital for regular check ups. The further course of treatment for Gopika will be decided after the results of her blood tests come in. Srinivas has conveyed his gratitude to all of you for saving his little girl.

We have good news to share about the health condition of Gopika. Uthra Nagarajan, a Milaap Open Fellow spoke to Srinivas, Gopika’s father.
Since her transplant four months ago, Gopika’s health has improved. Her latest CBC (Complete Blood Count) results are good. The family is staying near CMC Hospital, Vellore for Gopika’s weekly check-up. “She used to have frequent fever earlier and her platelet count was low. But she is far better now and her doctors are hopeful of a balanced CBC soon,” says Srinivas.
Gopika currently takes three tablets and a syrup daily to alleviate her condition. Based on her progress, her treatment plan will change. She will need a check-up only once or twice in a month. Srinivas has started work again and is able to manage the current medical expenses. He works at a sweet shop which is about 8 kms away from CMC. He is grateful to all the donors for their support and help.

She goes twice a week to the hospital to take injections. She gave a blood test today. Further treatment will be decided once the test results are out. She is active and taking food.
