Hello everyone, it looks like raising 5 lakhs may be a tall order at this point. People have been donating, but I am unsure if we can make the goal amount. After discussions with the contractor, Pushpa decided to settle for a tin roof instead of a concrete ceiling. There are other cutbacks the contractor has suggested. The new goal amount is down to Rupees 3 lakh 50 thousand or around $5,500. We plan to begin contstruction on Jan 1, 2016.

Since the fundraiser has been slow, Pushpa and I had to regroup ourselves.
I have been discussing with the contractor, Gopinath Vijayanagra about how we can cut costs and still build a solid home. Looks like Pushpa will have to settle for a tin sheet rooftop instead of a ceiling. We will be starting construction soon.
