Diwali has always been synonymous with hope and smiles. As for acid attack survivors, they wish the light of this festival shines through the shadows in their lives.
The pandemic rendered survivors with no option other than to surrender to their hardships as it affected the welfare of their families and themselves. They were forced to live on the bare minimum since the shutdown of 'Sheroes Hangout'- (a cafe run by acid attack). Their helplessness can turn this festival of light into darkness without your support.
This Diwali, let's light up not only our homes but also the lives of survivors.

Dear Supporters,

Thank You for your response so far. We are overwhelmed with your support. We are looking for support to help her stand on her own. That she could start a family, settle an occupation and continue a life at peace.

Thank You.

It’s strange that it took 2 men to change the course of my life. One, a man in a uniform who took an oath of ‘service before self’, who couldn’t comprehend a simple ‘NO’ from a girl. And another, a simpleton who saw a girl in her most vulnerable state, became her biggest support and pushed her to be the best version of herself. But most importantly, who waited for her to be ready," Rani Wrote this on her Facebook Page after her wedding .

Yes, our Rani is now happily married. Saroj and Rani got married with great pomp in their village Janakpur in Jagat singapur district.. Rani, who had given up hope of identifying herself, to live, is today at a new and beautiful stage of her life, which has been possible only with the help of all of you.

Even after so many operations and treatment, Rani has not been able to recover completely even today, but her spirit still remains so high with the help and support that you all extend.

One of the many dreams of Rani was that she should get married in the presence of her family and friends. She wanted to dress beautifully, apply mehndi ,wear ravishing bridal attire , dance her heart out and yes with all of your love and compassion Rani was able to live that dream.

There was a reception following the wedding in which Governor of Odisha, Honourable Ganeshi Lal and many other dignitaries, were present to bless Rani and Saroj. Rani is thrilled with the kind of aid that she received and for this reason she is going to raise her voice against acid violence in her state.

She wants to extend help and support to set rehabilitation for other such acid attack victims and disseminate the Stop Acid Attacks campaign, in her state Odisha for which she needs your love and support.

 support Rani in this Initiate.

 Thank you
