"He who plants a tree, plants a hope."-Lucy Larcom
TCS Purpose4Life volunteers traveled to Purulia with the hope of planting trees in the school ground, run by Turnstone Global Purulia Belabahal Village. Students, School staff and few people from the village also joined their hands with us for this great cause. The thought was to include the kids also in this event to teach them how to plant trees and make them aware about the importance of it. Once they learned the activity they just hijacked the ground and started planting all by themselves in guidance of volunteers.
Not 100 or 200, the plantation was completed for more than 1500 trees in these 2 days which filled the joy of planting hope for the future of this school. Another 1500 trees will be planted in next 2 days as well by the school staff and village people who were more active and experience in this activity.
When the Plantation was over, volunteers were thinking that how we would be going to water all the trees, then just after one hour the rain came and God did his job. Thanks to TCS Maitree Kolkata for helping us in organizing this event. I must say, "It was a green weekend"
