Years ago, Gandhi ji laid the foundation for a space that welcomed political action, launched movements for India’s freedom and built a shared vision of the Indian democracy. That space was Sabarmati Ashram.

Today, India needs another democratic awakening. It needs to nurture a new generation of principled grassroots political leadership, to reclaim politics as the highest form of public service.

Sabarmati ashram was built by the common people - some gave the land, some gave money and surrendered everything they had. It was owned by the community. We humbly seek the same ownership from our country today to help us build Indian School of Democracy, where we grassroots political leaders are nurtured.

We envision ISD as an organization this is equally yours as ours. Let's build something inspirational :)
