Dear Donors,

Thank you for your great generosity! We, at Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), greatly appreciate your donation and your sacrifice. Your support helps to further our mission through the Mrs. India Fundraising Campaign.

CPAA works side-by-side with the medical fraternity, focusing on activities encompassing Awareness, Early Detection, Support for treatment, Guidance and Counseling, Rehabilitation, Research Studies and Advocacy. The primary concern of CPAA is to meet the needs of poor cancer patients who do not have access nor can afford cancer treatment.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, CPAA’s efforts to provide aid to cancer patients and the communities that its supports where Cancer is most prevalent due to their habits of consuming excessive tobacco i.e. Auto Rickshaw Drivers, BEST bus Drivers, Transgenders have been impacted considerably.

While we understand patients who are living with cancer and are undergoing chemotherapy and/ or radical radiotherapy particularly for lung cancer, and patients with blood and bone marrow cancer have very low immune systems and are extremely vulnerable to infections like COVID 19. The above-mentioned communities have completely lost their source of income & also lack of information about how to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

On an average, CPAA assists 6500 cancer patients annually with medical aid to enable them to complete cancer treatment which they cannot afford. This aid is provided by assisting patients with costs related to chemotherapy drugs or assistance with costs related to surgery and radiotherapy. In addition, patients are also supported with food grains, prosthesis (breast and Head and Neck) depending on what their need is.

We have been assisting over 3000 jobless auto-rickshaw drivers, 1800 BEST bus drivers & about 500 transgenders during the lock-down in Mumbai with hygiene & food kits which consist of sanitizers, masks, gloves, immunity building drugs along with a monthly supply of food grains. Besides our efforts in regularly organizing awareness camps for them to give up tobacco & avoid spitting gutkha/khaini in public places which can spread of many infectious diseases like COVID 2019.

We are currently due to the lockdown assisting around 1200 patients stuck in the city of Mumbai alone. The funds will then be used for helping the patients with medical support for the next 3 months besides other expenses for the supply of hygienic food kits.

Your support is invaluable to us, thank you again! If you have specific questions about our mission be sure to visit our website - https://cancer.org.in/

Sincerely,
