Sourav has been able to find a donor and he has cleared the first round of tests. The doctors will now interview him before conducting the final round of examinations to given the go-ahead for accepting him as the donor.

The final verdict is expected to come out by the end of this month after which we will start proceedings for the transplant to take place. Obviously, the costs will be much higher now given that an external donor is involved.

Sourav is undergoing weekly dialysis and it is only being made possible due to the money we raised through Milaap.

Withdrawing 2 lakhs to initiate the tests required to work him up for dialysis and also there is a major expense as we are looking for a prospective donor for the transplant.

URGENT NEED FOR A KIDNEY DONOR FOR SOURAV

Sourav's aunt's test results have been positive but doctors are wary of accepting her as the donor as her blood group is different from Sourav's.

Given the situation, we have actively started looking for a donor. Sourav is travelling to Chennai Apollo Hospital as well as Manipal Hospital Bengaluru tomorrow to talk to doctors and look for a donor.

Given the paucity of time and the complexities involved in finding an eligible donor, we are appealing to everyone out here if they can provide us with any leads of kidney donors.

Any leads/sources/contacts that any of you can provide will be life changing for Sourav. Please feel free to get in touch with either Sourav or myself at the following contact nos if you can extend any help.

Thank you everyone for the support.
Sourav has undergone an arteriovenous fistula operation for his impending dialysis on the 9th October. He has recovered well and a call on starting the dialysis process will be taken in a week's time after consulting with the doctors.

Unfortunately, his mother's chances of acting as the donor which we were quite confident about seem increasingly improbable. She is a patient of ulcerative colitis which has also partially affected her kidney functions. This has come as a major setback for all of us.

Sourav's maternal aunt is now undergoing preliminary tests to confirm if she can be a possible donor. The results of the tests are expected to be out by mid next week.

Depending on that, we will decide on the next course of action. We hope and pray that his aunt's test results are encouraging.
