Dear Supporters,

Indhumathi is doing well and her quality of life is largely improved after the discontinuation of chemotherapy  (docetaxel and carboplatin) which was causing undesirable side effects. She is continuing on the maintenance doses of Perjeta+Herceptin every 21 days along with the blood tests and doctor consultations (this cost approx 3 lakhs). 

We would like to convey our thanks to the supporters for their contributions, prayers and more importantly guiding us about assistance programs available. We have enrolled in the patient assistance programs and these organizations have agreed to provide one vial of Herceptin free for every three vials purchased and one vial of Perjeta free for every two vials purchased. With this arrangement of free vials, on an average, the approx cost every 21 days comes down from 3 lakhs to 2.2 lakhs.

Here is an update on Indhumathi.

Currently, she is at home and is doing good. She has to go to the hospital for check-ups and tests every 21 days. She has completed 9 cycles of the treatment. The doctors have advised stopping the chemotherapy sessions to check on the improvements. However, she will continue with maintenance therapy on perjeta and Herceptin every 21 days. This will cost 3 lakhs approx every 21 days.
