Young Meenakshi’s mother passed away one month before the lockdown. Her father supports her by cleaning cars. With the lockdown there was no means for this family to earn enough money for food. Meenakshi has two married sisters who try to help but can only do what they can. Nai Disha contacted Meenakshi to help this family with a food supply. Like Meenakshi, there are so many more children and families that could benefit from your generous contribution. These are hard times for all but even more for those whose lives literally live on a hope of getting at least something to eat! Please spread the word

9-year old Anuj was stressed as he was not sure his family would survive without food during this lockdown as his father is a daily wage earner and mother a housewife. There was no means to earn for two square meals a day. Being migrants, the family does not possess a ration card and were not eligible for food from the government. Neither did they possess a smart phone to book online. There was no hope until yesterday when Anuj’s teacher at Nai Disha made contact with the family to immediately provide food supplies. This is what your contribution has done! We need to feed another 100 families like Anuj…Please support us by spreading the word to collect money to feed the needy.

Sharing the story of two brothers Hasan Noor and Shah Noor. Both brothers belong to Kolkatta and shifted to Delhi in 2001. Both are students of Nai Disha since 2007 and today they are about to do their secondary and senior secondary exams from the Open School System. These two boys are focussed with a goal to help their mother who continues to have illness issues. These children are working towards securing a government job such as joining the Police services so that as a family they can look forward to a better life. Their mother is the breadwinner of this family who works from house to house since her husband passed away in 2004. Due to the lockdown, this family that survives on a meagre INR 7000 per month is in need of food. Nai Disha helped the Noor family with Dry Ration packets for which they are very grateful. Nai Disha is helping many more families that are closely associated with their school. Presently, the lockdown situation in their area of operation is really tough because of the declarations of hot spots presenting a bigger challenge. Like the Noor Brothers, we have many more that can benefit from your generous donation. Please donate and help us reach our target of 1000 families. So, so grateful to the huge donation made this morning…it will go a long way in supporting at least 700 families. Thank you!
