Dear Supporters,

It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted an update as the family was very busy completing all legal formalities required for the operation. Now that all formalities have been completed, the family will be leaving for Chennai on 17th September 2017 for the operation. The date of the operation has not been finalized yet but will be within 3-4 days from the time Amlan is admitted once they reach Chennai.

In between, due to the long wait, Amlan's health has deteriorated and he has hardly any energy left. He spends the entire day resting in bed and is unable to speak for a prolonged period of time. Now that the family is preparing to leave for Chennai next Sunday, I request all of you to keep them in your prayers and hope everything goes well from here on.

A couple of days back Amlan was really unwell as his blood count started to fluctuate a lot. However, he is stable now and is under constant monitoring. The family is now busy completing the legal formalities that are required for a liver transplant surgery in India. Once all formalities are completed then they can apply for a date for the operation. They are targeting the first week of September for the operation by when, they are hopeful that all the formalities and fund raising should be completed, I'll keep you posted regarding further development.

Dear Supporters,

As the generous support keeps coming in from friends, family and well wishers, who we can't thank enough for their act of kindness, there are a few developments that I would like to update you regarding Amlan's surgery.

As he runs from pillar to post to secure a college admission before his father's operation, Amlan's son Archito has been confirmed as the donor for the operation after he was able to control his condition of fatty liver with strict diet regime and sustained hard work. This news brought huge relief to the family as at this stage arranging for an external donor would have been next to impossible. Archito wanted to personally appeal and thank all the donors who had been kind enough to support the family in their hour of crisis. I would post his message soon in the main story section of the campaign page.

Despite the generous support of family and friends, the surgery had to be deferred by a couple of weeks to the third week of August as we are still short of the required funds needed for the operation. In light of this, I would extend the period of the campaign by another two and half week (18th August 2017) so that we can circulate this among our friends who might want to support the cause.
