Dear Supporters & Well-Wishers,

It has been a while since we had gotten in touch with you. We are here to provide you with an update to show how the progress has been over the past couple of years.

In response to the Covid-19 situation in India, Swiggy partnered with Akshaya Patra and started its relief intervention in the various States of India in March 2020, by providing free meals and Grocery boxes to homeless migrants, daily wage earners, and other underprivileged beneficiaries in coordination with the local district administrations.

Swiggy with the motto “No customer goes hungry”, also aimed to reduce food insecurities in vulnerable communities across India during the pandemic of COVID-19. Aligned with this motive, Swiggy partnered with Akshaya Patra to serve hot cooked & packed meals to 2.5 lakh individuals across various locations in India. This distribution has been done in two major phases. Before the two phases, Mid-Day Meal programs were held from the months of 1st November to 30th November 2020.

Mid-Day Meal Drive: The drive was held in the month of November 2020. A total of 3,08,000 meals were prepared to be distributed in multiple government schools in the regions of Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Lucknow, and Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh).
 Impact of Mid-day meal:
  • Improved enrolment rate at Government schools.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Enhanced performance and nutritional profile of children.
  • Reduction of the dropout rate.
  • The arrangement also serves as a source of economic support to the family, as every school day one nutritious meal for their child is taken care of.
  • Addresses women empowerment through employment in the kitchen

As our journey comes to a close on May 3rd, we hope to end on a high by recording the highest number of meals served in a day.  So, we request you to spread the word on our efforts - every share is as valuable as a donation.

A card on our initiative is attached below; feel free to post it on your social networks.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we’ve made a difference.

Dear Supporter,

Generous contributions like yours to the Hope, Not Hunger Fund, have helped us serve more than 24 lakh meals so far. Today, our initiative has successfully expanded to 30 cities. Currently, we have tied-up with several NGOs like Global Concerns India, Pratham, HelpAge India, and Yuva to name a few. Our distribution has been further strengthened as every NGO is working closely with kitchen partners such as Elior, Compass Kitchen, Lite Bite, Smart Q, and others.

Hope, Not Hunger continues to assist the efforts of several state governments in the preparation and distribution of meals across COVID relief camps. Our efforts and impact have been recognised by the Hon’ble CM of Kerala, the Delhi Police, the Swachh Bharat Mission, and several media outlets.

Now, with the lockdown extension, several more lives will be impacted, and we need your continued support to prevent people from going hungry. So, we request you to spread the word on our efforts - a card on our initiative is attached below , which can be shared on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, or any social media of your choice. Every share can help us feed more people.

Thank you for your support. Every meal served is a life saved. Together, we can make a difference.

Warmly,
Team Swiggy
