Hi everybody. Hope everyone is doing good.

In India, a stoma usually means your life as you know it has ended. You cannot pursue any ambition. Although the doctors say that it is not a hindrance, yet a person with an ostomy pouch is treated like an untouchable. My goal is to change that and achieve something with this pouch, because I know that it saved my life and I should have gone for it sooner. But now, with the support I have received, I hope to set an example that you can live a fulfilling life with an ostomy pouch too and it is nothing to be ashamed of.

I am really overwhelmed by the amount of support I have received. We have already crossed the goal I had set. So, I'll be putting in a request to close the campaign in a few days. Some of my friends have requested me to keep the campaign open for a few more days as they want to bring in their colleagues and some more support. So, I'll increase the target amount one last time to 6 lakhs.

As soon as we reach this target amount, I'll put in a request to close the campaign. This should be enough to take care of any hospital visits/surgeries that will be planned in the near future for me. Also, I might be put on drugs to prevent recurrence of the disease, and the drugs used to treat this disease are very expensive. That is the exact reason why I had to opt to get my treatment at AIIMS. I had spent all my money on the expensive drugs and consultation fees of doctors at private hospitals. Even at AIIMS, I only saved consultation fees. The drugs stayed the same and so did most of my expenses. So, the help that I am getting from you will put my mind at ease and help me get better medical support and care.

I do hope to get a job by the end of the year so that by then I will be able to take care of my medical expenses, atleast partially if not fully.

After 1 year, my situation will be reviewed by the doctors and it will be decided whether to close my stoma or let it be until my insides have healed some more.

Today, I did a bag change all by myself. I screwed up a little and we'll have to see if I made a big mistake or a small one. Hopefully, there won't be any problems and my stoma will be ok. It doesn't have any nerve endings and so I can't feel any pain or sense it. I can only see it when I change my bag. Also, my wound around the stoma is healing, so that is good news for me. I was worried I would have to get it restitched.

This time, I have another request for all of you. Many of you are my friends and thoroughly know me and my condition. I have been having some problems withdrawing the funds donated by you. It would be helpful if you could send an email to Milaap confirming my medical and financial condition.

In the end, if you want to talk to me or visit me or support me further (in finding a job, insurance or medically or in any other way), just comment your email or any other contact details at the campaign page. I will contact you and we can talk about it.

Thank you. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Hi everybody. I am really overwhelmed by your support. I would like to update you on some developments.

My stoma has developed a slight complication and I will have to take special care it for a few weeks.

I did a more precise calculation of my medical equipment needs. Till now, I did not take into account the special clothing and support items I will need to venture out in the real world without injuring my stoma. These items have to be ordered from abroad and hence are very costly, but the good thing is they have a long life and hence, I don't have to get a lot of them. I am posting a screenshot of my calculated costs. Right now, I am 38 kgs and I need to get to min. 60 kgs. Thus, my dietician has put me on a high calorie, high protein diet. I also need extra medical treatment to cure my hypertension that developed after surgery, anxiety, bad body postures, sleeping habits, and pain and mental health related issues that developed during the disease course. Also, I won't be able to work for a year. Considering all these, I am updating the target amount. Remember to only contribute if you think I really need the stuff and I am asking for a valid reason. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any doubts.

Also, some people have asked me not to close the campaign as they would like to help at a later time. So, I will try not to close the campaign soon.

In the end, I would like to say that it is not easy to ask for help like this. In other countries, people with diseases like mine are provided special care and support from government and many charities. There are rules and acts to prevent discrimination in public places and at the office. But in India, there is no support structure for people like us. A lot of the times, I feel guilty asking for money again and again. But I have been so misfortunate that I have to do this. However, I do feel fortunate to have so many good friends and colleagues who have proved that our we value our friends and people's lives more than money and that humanity is still alive, very alive.

Thank you.
