STAND UP | SPEAK OUT
In our society, physical and sexual abuse of women and children is a harsh reality. Born and raised in poverty, Farah, a 14-year-old survivor from Bangladesh had travelled to India with a lady from her village, who in the pretext of a well-paid job sold Farah to agents in Sonagachi. After her rescue by the Kolkata Police in 2017, Farah joined Mahima Homes. Currently undergoing therapy and attending vocational skills to develop herself, Farah feels secured at Mahima and looks forward to return home and re-join school.
This November, in observance of International Children’s Day and International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women, we invite you to join the Mahima India movement of stopping sexual violence against women and children like Farah by spreading the word and through your generous giving towards holistic development of these survivors to help restore their lost dignity.
